Maldives Transport and Contracting Company has announced that 65% of the harbour development project in Maafushi has been completed.
According to MTCC, revetment construction and sand works for breakwater installations are currently underway.
Works under the project include:• 448m rock revetment for coastal protection• 700m geobag revetment• 655m quay wall installation• Land reclamation of 96,961 cubic metres• Harbour paving covering 1,765 square metres
The project was awarded to MTCC for MVR 82.5 million with a 600-day completion period. The project also includes harbour dredging of 28,836 cubic metres and an additional 63,711 cubic metres of dredging work.
