President Reaffirms Strong Maldives-Saudi Ties

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed National Day greetings to Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, reaffirming the close relationship between the Maldives and the Kingdom.

In separate messages addressed to the Saudi leaders on Wednesday, President Muizzu described Saudi Arabia as a valued and trusted partner of the Maldives.

The President said the longstanding relationship between the two countries is built on shared Islamic values and a common commitment to the welfare and solidarity of the Islamic Ummah. He noted that bilateral ties have continued to develop through cooperation, mutual respect and understanding.

President Muizzu also expressed confidence that the friendship and cooperation between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia would continue to expand, bringing mutual benefits to both countries.

Economic cooperation was also highlighted in the messages, with the President expressing hope for greater investment from Saudi Arabia in major development projects in the Maldives. He said there were opportunities to further expand economic relations and establish new areas of cooperation that would contribute to the long-term development of the Maldives.

The President conveyed his wishes for the continued wellbeing and success of the Saudi leadership and for peace, progress and prosperity for the Saudi people.

Saudi Arabia celebrates its National Day annually on September 23, commemorating the unification of the Kingdom in 1932 under the leadership of King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud.
